In addition to or in lieu of a reprimand or denial, limitation, suspension or revocation of a certificate under sub. (2) , the department may assess against an applicant or certified acupuncturist a forfeiture of not less than $100 nor more than $1,000 for each violation enumerated under sub. (2) .
